Due to coronavirus matches are stopped . Cricketers are staying at home with their family. In this time making themselves fit is very hard for any players. In cricket, pacers will face this challenge more. Having overweight means they will fall behind, which might have effect from run-up then bowl delivery to follow through. If players are not fit then they will have fear of being hit while bowling and also the injury chances would be high.
Bangladesh teams pacers are trying to be fit despite the fear of coronavirus. Many have turned their house rooftop into gymnasium. Many are using the nearby field for running. It becomes tough to control the food habbit at home. Then again the pacers are resisting themselves and continuing with their given diet. Everyone has the urge to prepare themselves.
Left handed cutter master Mustafizur Rahman is keeping himself fit as well as doing bowling regularly. He is bowling over concrete wicket as he is not having turf.
"Started bowling over concrete wicket. And doing home workout for fitness using the band. Started running also. Last day run about two and a half kilometer. It's hard to do anything else in this situation," Mustafiz said in an interview to daily news.
Mohammad Saifuddin recently recovered himself from injury. He was out of game for about six months before he started in the last Zimbabwe series where he had played ODIs and T20Is. After playing five match in a row he is again stuck in his house for coronavirus. He is having leisure time at home.
Saifuddin said that, "Everyday just having food and sleep. At afternoon went to the rooftop and have my core fitness workout and running."
Saifuddin is doing more than what Julian Calefato the physio of the national Team showed.
"Physio asked to do some work. Apart from that everyone of us are doing what we need to do."
The 23 year old pacer is also aware about the food habit, "As there is no match, controlling food habit is important. Trying to have as much as diet food."
Veteran pacer Rubel Hossain is well experienced about working on fitness from home. Instead of going to gym he is making himself fit by doing some home workout.
"Doing what I can do from. Working on core. Not going to gym for the situation. Also don't have anything to do right now. Have to continue like this."
Pace bowling coach of the national team Sarwar Imrans gave some advice to the players apart from physical fitness, they should bowl continuously in their imagination.
He said that, "Apart from fitness they can practice bowling 30 minutes to one hour everyday. Which called envisioning bowling. It's one kind of mental practice. They can see themselves bowling by closing their eyes. I'll see my self in run-up, jumping over, delivering the bowl and placing the bowl in the right direction. Some will see out-swing and some will in-swing. They have to do this mental practice regularly. When they will do it physically then it will come in hand easily."
If you face obstacle, you will also see how to move from there. In the war against coronavirus at this moment, players have to find out the technique to overcome their odds.
