Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has expressed that he is yet to fix at which role he will be involved in cricket or other things after his retirement from cricket.
But Shakib said that he has kept his option opened after retiring from the game of cricket. He has many options in cricket and out of cricket but he doesn’t fix it yet what he will do after his retirement from professional cricket.
The left-handed all-rounder got banned himself for corruption offences by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for two years with one suspended year after he admitted the charges and accepted his suspension instead of a hearing.
The south-paw said he will be involved in the game after his retirement but still has not identified any specific role in which he will be involved.
“It’s not necessary that I’ll get departed from cricket. Due to being away from cricket for so long, there have been so many options but then again if I stay in cricket, I can then help cricket from so many ways. So that option will never go away,” said Shakib Al Hasan.
“I can’t say in which position I will stand when I’ll not play after three, four or five years later. Maybe I can become the coach of the US team, these are imaginary things. I don’t know if there is a possibility of any similarity with any of them,” Shakib said to a bangle daily newspaper.
“I can become a coach of different countries’ franchise teams, can turn into a commentator if I complete an English course very well, can be with the coaching staff of Bangladesh or become an official of the board, so there are many options from age level to board. So the chances of staying away from cricket are very low. No matter which profession I will go but staying away from cricket will be very low,” he concluded.
